Cardiac Rehabilitation Phase II is a physician prescribed
exercise program for those with recently diagnosed heart
problems. Educational aspects of your individual health
problems and risk factor education are also reinforced.
Participants in Cardiac Rehabilitation Phase II engage
in monitored exercise, supervised by cardiac rehabilitation
nurse and a physical therapist working closely with
your local physician. The program is individually designed
to improve cardiovascular fitness.
Anyone who has recently been hospitalized for a heart
attack, coronary artery bypass surgery, heart valve
surgery, balloon dilatation procedure (PTCA) may qualify
for the program.
The Cardiac Rehabilitation
Phase II Program at Mercy Medical Center - New Hampton
is medically prescribed
and supervised. Eligibility is determined on an individual
basis. A physician’s referral is required.

All or
part of the fees incurred are recognized as covered
medical expenses by most insurance companies.
