How do you know if you have a sleep disorder? A sleep disorder is any condition that interrupts normal sleep-wake patterns. Often detected by a spouse or partner, sleep disorder symptoms include:
- Excessive snoring.
- Inability to sleep at normal times.
- Gasping for breath while sleeping.
- Excessive daytime sleepiness, even after nine hours of sleep.
- Periodic kicking of legs or arms throughout the night.
If you experience one or more of these symptoms, you may have a sleep disorder that requires a physician's attention.
