Free Blood Pressure Clinic & Medical Sharps Disposal Program
Every Wednesday from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m.
Mercy Medical Center – New Hampton Cafeteria

Have your blood pressure checked for free. Free sharps disposal containers can be picked up or you can dispose of your full containers. For the safety of others, we will not accept any non-approved containers or containers with broken closures.

"Herb Gardening" Presented by Rita Barth, herb gardener and herb retailer from Greene, Iowa. Learn the benefits of cooking and eating the natural way.  Plant your favorite herbs in a container and grow them in your home all year long. 
Lighten Up Iowa Celebration

Sunday May 4th from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m.
Chickasaw Wellness Complex. 

All Lighten Up Iowa participants and their family members are invited to walk, run, and/or ride their bikes around the Tri/Mark Freedom Trail.  Great door prizes including a new TREK bicycle will be awarded!  Mark your calendars and come celebrate your success at the Lighten Up Iowa Final Celebration!  If it is raining that day all activities will be moved indoors.

As a way to give back to the community, Mercy Medical Center – New Hampton is offering AHA Heartsaver AED CPR training for any interested members of the community for a reduced rate.  Mercy’s trained AHA CPR instructors will be teaching the classes.  The public is invited to attend one of the 2-hour certification classes, for only $10 per person

Class size is limited, so early registration is encouraged.  Register before May 9 by calling 394-1630.  A $10 pre-payment will hold your place in the class.  Upon successful completion of the American Heart Association class, each participant will be certified for two years from the date of the class.  Certification cards will be mailed to participants 4-6 weeks after the class.

Blood Center of Iowa Blood Drive

New Hampton Community Center, 112 E. Spring St.

The first 10 new donors will receive a $5 Subway gift card courtesy of MMC-NH Auxiliary.
The Blood Center of Iowa is our sole provider of blood products so it is important to donate and keep our blood supplies filled.
