The Employee Assistance Program provides
free, confidential counseling for employees and
immediate family members who are having personal
concerns such as family conflicts, worries, substance
abuse or financial problems.
How do employees access EAP?
MercyWorks EAP telephone number 641.422.7733 answered
24 hours a day, seven days a week. Callers may request
a male or female counselor.
Interviews and follow-up sessions with a counselor
occur at convenient times for the employee.
A supervisor may be involved in referring
employees to the program. In the event job performance
deteriorates, an employee may be REQUIRED to see
a counselor.
What about confidentiality?
No one but you and your EAP counselor
will know about your involvement in the Employee
Assistance Program.
An employee may be required to see
a counselor if the supervisor does not see an improvement
in job performance, absenteeism or behavior. In
situations where the supervisor is involved in
referring an employee, the supervisor will be notified
whether appointments are kept - and that is all.
If additional information is needed
about the employee's participation in EAP or additional
information is needed about the employee, a signed
consent is used to authorize the exchange of information.
